Trial voyage of “RN Sakhalin” completed successfully

On December 6, 2017, JSC “Dalzavod” Ship Repair Center” successfully completed a test sea voyage for the final stage of sea trials of the ice-class tanker “RN Sakhalin”. The new vessel was completed at the enterprise and passed all stages of mooring and sea trials stipulated by the Maritime Register.

Since April 2016, JSC “Dalzavod” Ship Repair Center” has started to implement a new Company project to complete the construction of 2 ice-class tankers. The “Dalzavod”employees completed in full volume the works on laying cables, assembling and installing equipment, start-up works.

During the sea trials in 2017at “RN Sakhalin”, main engine equipment and auxiliary mechanisms, thrusters and navigation equipment of the vessel were tested. The specialists tested the fuel equipment system, which provides the possibility of bunkering ships with fuel in winter conditions.

At the same time, the Companycarries out the whole range of work on completion of the second tanker of this series –“RN Primorye”. In 2018 it will start mooring and sea trials in accordance with the work schedule.

It is worth noting, that the main purpose of ice-class tankers is to supply all types of fuel to the regions of the Far North.
