The modernized frigate “Marshal Shaposhnikov”went on the first sea trials in Vladivostok
The frigate “Marshal Shaposhnikov”under its own power went on the first sea trials in the Sea of Japan to test the operation of the main power unit in different modes. At the moment, the ship is undergoing repairs and deep modernization at JSC “Dalzavod” Ship Repair Center”. A project of this scale is being implemented for the first time in Russia.
During the period of repair and modernization on the frigate “Marshal Shaposhnikov”, hull works, work with general ship systems were practically completed, modern missile and artillery weapons were installed. Also, more than 20% of the ship’s superstructure were dismantled and re-manufactured according to the designer’s drawings.
“Marshal Shaposhnikov”went on the first sea trials in the Sea of Japan on its own, which speaks of the high quality of the performed work, the reliability of the repaired equipment and the confidence of the Pacific Navy command, the ship’s personnel and the “Dalzavod” team. During the tests, the operation of the main power unitwas tested in different modes. After completing the assigned tasks, “Marshal Shaposhnikov” will return to the quay walls of the enterprise for subsequent modernization and preparation for acceptance tests. The successful completion of the project will bring “Dalzavod” to the new stage of development – it will consolidate its status not only as a ship repair plant, but also as a shipbuilding plant.
“Marshal Shaposhnikov” – Project 1155 large anti-submarine warfare ship, a part of the Pacific Navy. Named after Marshal of the Soviet Union Boris Shaposhnikov. Laid down in 1983 at the “Yantar” shipyard in Kaliningrad. After deep modernization at JSC “Dalzavod” Ship Repair Center”, the ship will become a frigate and will be a more powerful combat unit. After completion of the works, the Ministry of Defense will consider a similar upgrade of the Pacific Navy ships of the same series, based in Vladivostok.
