Festivities dedicated to the Victory Day

The enterprises of the “Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center”celebrated the 71st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War with solemn meetings.

 – Victory Day is the most sacred holiday in our country. This is the day of remembrance of our grandfathers and fathers. Thanks to their great feat, we all now have the opportunity to live and create. We gathered here to honor the memory of all who fell on the battlefields of the Great Patriotic War.

Almost 71 years ago, the most difficult and bloody war was brought to an end, – said Andrey Nelidin, the Deputy General Director, Director for Modernization and Repair of Armaments of  the “Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center”, – Shipbuilders and ship repairmen made a significant contribution to the Victory cause. So, in 1941 more than 1000 workers went to the frontline from our leading enterprise – “Dalzavod”, in addition, more than 2.5 thousand people were draftedbefore the end of the war.

The enterprise itself, in a very short period, switched to war rails and was engaged in the repair of ships and submarines of the Pacific Navy. During the 4 years of the War, the enterprises produced more than in the 9 pre-war years. We must remember these military and labor exploits of those difficult years. It is the sacred duty of every citizen of Russia to remember this War, to honor it as a history of valor, high patriotism and fortitude!

 “Dalzavod” hosted a traditional meeting of veterans of the Great Patriotic War in honor of the Great Victory Day. The participants laid flowers at the Memorial to the “Dalzavod” workers,fallen during the war.

 “The Veterans Council of our enterprise unites more than 2 thousand war and labor veterans who worked at “Dalzavod” and other enterprises of the Vladivostok ship repair industry,” said Igor Evdokimov, the General Director of “Dalzavod” Ship Repair Center”. –The “Dalzavod” employees implement a program of social support for honored workers, providing material assistance and compensating treatment costs. On the eve of the Great Victory Day, the war veterans were presented with cash prizes, gifts and personal congratulations.

A concert of creative teams of the FEFU Pushkin Theater was given for veterans. A field kitchen was deployed at the site near the Companyoffice building and the exhibition of retro cars was organized, exhibiting the famous “Pobeda” (GAZ M-20).

The Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center (FESRC) includes the main ship repair and shipbuilding production facilities of the Far Eastern Federal District, such as the “Dalzavod” Ship Repair Center”(Vladivostok), “Zvezda” Far EasternShipyard (BolshoyKamen), the North Eastern Repair center (Vilyuchinsk). Today, the enterprise solves problems of national importance related to the preservation and development of the scientific and production potential of the military-industrial complex, and directs its efforts to concentrate intellectual, production and financial resources in the implementation of projects for construction of ships and marine equipment for development of the Russian Federationshelf.
